Covid 19 update for all our visitors & event guests – 29th April 2021:
We are continuing to monitor the government’s “Roadmap out of Lockdown” guidance in the hope that Springfields Events & Conference Centre can fully re-open according to the current timetable on 21st June. In particular, we are waiting for the results from the scientific Events Research Programme which is currently running tests to see what controls may still be needed at some larger indoor events, even after most restrictions have been lifted, to limit the risk of future Coronavirus infection transmission.
In the meantime, the Events Centre team continue to work with the local clinical teams to ensure that everyone invited for their second “jab” has a safe and positive experience and we continue to be grateful for the invaluable assistance of individual volunteers and those from various local charity organisations for their help and support, particularly with the parking arrangements. Luckily, it’s a lot warmer and drier now (compared with February & March) which makes the job a little bit easier but still requires them to be outside working for many hours on vaccination days. A huge “thank you” to the staff and volunteers who have helped in delivering over 50,000 jabs so far.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back as soon as we can. Please remember that Springfields Festival Gardens and the Shopping Outlet are open for visits (but please remember social distancing rules still apply at the moment) and the gardens are looking particularly colourful with the tulip displays, tree blossom and general re-greening as shrubs and trees begin to open their leaves and welcome back some springtime sunshine.
